SIEBEL CENTER FOR DESIGN

Here are my favorite projects from my time as the

Senior Graphic Designer at the Siebel Center for Design

TINY HUT

Branding & Merchandise | Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop

PROJECT BRIEF

The Siebel Center for Design is starting a live concert series, similar to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, called TinyHut.

The purpose of TinyHut is to highlight local artists at the University of Illinois and in the Champaign-Urbana community. Since the Siebel Center for Design is a creative space in which makers can launch their projects, TinyHut is a great step for artists to take their music to the next level, whether that's recording, live streaming, or live performance.

I was given the project of creating a logo along with concept posters - showcasing designs for when TinyHut collaborates with artists, such as the Hip-Hop Collective.

LOGO PROCESS

This final iteration is smooth, and playful, and resembles the shape of a Hut. Having a similar feel to the branding for the Siebel Center for Design.

ABBREVIATED LOGO

Although the full TinyHut logo worked well, I thought that it may be hard to read in certain formats.

Therefore, I created an abbreviated version.

The final abbreviated logo still resembles a hut shape and fits in with the brand.

HALLOWEEN EVENT

Promotional Event Design | Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop

PROJECT BRIEF

The Siebel Center for Design needed a promotional poster, banner, and social media post for their Trick or Treat Halloween event.

I learned a lot about context through this project. The University of Illinois has lots of international students and people only “Trick or Treat” in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, and Canada.

Therefore, adding the blurb at the bottom about getting candy while wearing a costume became a necessary aspect of the design, giving more context to the event for those who do not traditionally Trick or Treat.

OPEN HOUSE

Poster Design | Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop

PROJECT BRIEF

The Siebel Center for Design needed a promotional poster for their Open House event. The purpose of this event is for students and anyone interested in using Siebel for their creative endeavors. This includes using the creative spaces as well as the equipment that Siebel offers. The branding needed to be similar to their Annual Report, which has a very punk rock, yet playful feel.

DTX COURSES

Social Media | Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator

PROJECT BRIEF

The Siebel Center for Design needed social media posts to inform students about their new DTX courses.

DTX stands for Human-Centered Design & Design Thinking.

Here are some basic layouts I designed. In which I used SCD assets and gradient maps to fit their branding.
